Laguna de los Tres from El Calafate
Experience the iconic Laguna de los Tres trek with a full-day excursion starting from El Calafate. Pick up at 4:30 AM from El Calafate. Arrive in El Chaltén around 7:00 AM and meet with your mountain guide. From Hostería El Pilar you start the 8-hour hike with a 700 m elevation gain all the way up to Laguna de los Tres, at the base of the majestic Cerro Fitz Roy. A lunch box is included. After the hike, return to El Calafate departing around 5:00 PM from Patagonia Hikes' office in El Chaltén.
Laguna de los Tres – Classic Trek to Fitz Roy
Discover one of the most iconic treks in Patagonia at the heart of Laguna de los Tres. This circuit takes you to the base of the majestic Cerro Fitz Roy, with views that simply leave you speechless. The route crosses forests, rivers and panoramic viewpoints, culminating in a challenging last stretch that rewards with one of the best views in the world.
Laguna Torre – Glaciers and Cerro Torre
A fascinating trek to the incredible Laguna Torre, with privileged views of the imposing Cerro Torre. Walk through unique Patagonian landscapes until you reach the lagoon, where floating icebergs from Glaciar Grande create a spectacular setting.
Loma del Pliegue Tumbado – Best Panoramic View
Loma del Pliegue Tumbado is a hike to a low-altitude summit that offers one of the best panoramic views of Los Glaciares National Park, with spectacular landscapes of Cerro Torre and Cerro Fitz Roy. Although the route has an elevation gain of approximately 800 meters, the ascent is gradual and never too steep. Much of the trail passes through native forest until emerging above the treeline, where wide views of the surrounding mountains, glaciers, and valleys open up. Compared to the hike to Laguna de los Tres, it is generally considered a steadier climb, but less physically demanding.
Laguna Capri – Short Trek, Big Impact
Perfect for those with less time or looking for an accessible hike without losing the essence of Patagonia. Laguna Capri offers incredible views of Cerro Fitz Roy on a short and very picturesque route.
